Ellen Stephenson is a Warrior for the Red Rose who first appears in The Warrior Heir. She also appears in The Wizard Heir, The Dragon Heir, and Enchanter Heir. She was sent to Trinity, Ohio to try to kill the Warrior there, but could not identify the Warrior. She eventually realizes Jack is the Warrior. In the Tournament in Dragon's Ghyll, she engages Jack in combat and pins him to the ground. However, she is unable to bring herself to kill him. Towards the end of Warrior Heir, she becomes Jack Swift's girlfriend, and lives with Will in Trinity. She wields one of the Seven Great Swords- Waymaker. She is a valuable warrior in the battle for Trinity, but suffered a life-threatening wound from Devereaux D'Orsay that prevented her from fighting in the battle until it ended. She has recovered since then.

She has chin-length straight and shiny brown hair, with clear gray eyes under a smoky fringe of lashes. Her nose has a little bump on the bridge like it had been broken, and she has long legs. According to Jack, she is cute, and does not normally wear makeup.
